56 Fore Street installation - 2003
< Return to Artists Work page
This installation was a “taster” of IMPLICATE’s work; a way of finding out how we could work together; a way of experimenting and experiencing the possibilities of manipulating a continuous piece of calico to cover, drape, articulate an interior; and a way of determining how to develop a proposal to gain funding for a larger, more rigorous and demanding installation. It was made to coincide with the Bradninch Music Festival in June 2003.
This Open Studio event was self-financed. This installation, which allowed us to pursue and develop the relationship between concept and practice, attracted much interest from the local and wider community and from the local press. Feedback received from artists and the community has enabled us to evaluate our progress, enrich our practice and to gain the names of artists and others who would like to join our collective for future projects.
Members of IMPLICATE involved in the current project are: Nick Bacon, Sarah Benians, Nick Bickford, Chris Code, Nigel Code, Jane Jobling, Matt Le Breton, Sally Livsey, Susie Needham, Laura Salisbury and Judy Willoughby.
